Letter from 12.09.08

September 2008

Dear Parent / Guardian

Llanilltud Fawr Primary School PTA would like to invite all Mums, Dads, Guardians & Carers to our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 16th September to be held at school in the main hall at 7:30 pm

Parents, Guardians and Carers of all children due to start the Nursery during 2008 / 2009 are also most welcome to join us. This is a good opportunity to meet other parents and have a chat over a drink – refreshments will be available.

We will also be electing our new parent committee and would welcome new members (male or female).  If you would like to join the committee, all you need to do is let us know on the night.

The main responsibilities of the committee are to raise funds for the school through organised activities, many of which are tried and tested annual events, such as the Christmas Fayre and Summer BBQ.  However, we are always keen to try new things and we welcome fresh ideas. There are no special skills needed to join the PTA, just an active interest in your children’s school and plenty of enthusiasm! We don’t expect people to be able to attend every single meeting – we welcome any contribution. Past parents have really enjoyed the experience, making new friends and having fun!

If you feel that joining the PTA is too much of a commitment, then perhaps you would consider becoming a helper? These are people who we call on to help us out at particular events. It would really help us with our planning if any current or potential new helpers could come to the AGM, so that we can get an idea of numbers and note down any skills you may have (e.g. cake baking, etc).

Kind regards

Djemilla Price
